Lulu Kate Nash Des'ree Tracy Thorn (solo and Everything But The Girl) Sarah Cracknell (solo and Saint Etienne) Cerys Matthews (solo and Catatonia) Louise Wener (Sleeper) Dot Allison (solo and One Dove) Girls Aloud Sugababes Atomic Kitten
- How about Alma Cogan, Anne Shelton, Ruby Muuray, Joan Regan, and Shirely Bassey from the 1950's ? Although, Ms. Bassey had her biggest hit, "Goldfinger" in 1965
- Annie Lennox, Toyah Wilcox, Eddie Reeder, Suzie Souz,
- Cilla Black. Dame Shirley Bassey. Martine McCucheon.
- Attomic Kitten, and Lily Allen. Lily has some really strange songs, but she's fun. My favorite song of hers is "Smile". It's a really good song. O and the Spice Girls.... lol.. but they aren't my favorite.
- Oh dear! I'm English and I can't really think of any female singers from England that I like. Apart from PJ Harvey. Marianne Faithfull!!!!!
- Cilla Black, Lita Roza, Helen Shapiro, Sandie Shaw, Lulu, Vera Lynn, Petula Clark, Marianne Faithfull, Shirley Bassey, Christine McVie, Kiki Dee, Alison Moyet, Sandy Denny
- Courtney Love, Amy Lee, Haylee from Paramore
- Bonnie Tyler
- Kate Nash Lilly Allen Gwenno, Riot Becki and Rosay - The Pipettes Tahita - New Yong Pony Club Kate - The Long Blondes
- Petula Clark was a MAJOR star back in the '60s, with a string of top-10 hits! I would say she was my favorite. Close second would be Dusty Springfield, then Lulu and Marianne Faithful.
- Agree with the above contributors, but there's some good one's missed out. How about Edna Savage, Julie Rogers & Susan Maughan. Then Elkie Brooks, Mica Paris, Maddy Prior, Julie Driscoll & Hazel O'Connor. More recently Heather Small and, perhaps the best of the lot, Beverley Knight.
- Lorna Reilly (Check out a band called Funkydory)
- Kate Jackson Shirley Bassey PJ Harvey
- Cant believe no one has mentioned the amazing Judie Tzuke
- Sandy Shaw, Sandy Denny (various folk bands), PJ Harvey, Sonya Madan (Echobelly), Louise Weiner (Sleeper), Justine Frischman (Elastica), Marianne Faithfull.... and loads more I forgot!
