Why do young people and alot of celebrities like and support Barack Obama?
I've noticed that many celebrities, especially young ones like Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel and Scarlett Johannsson. Why do young people like Obama?
Public Comments
- Because he can do the Robot.
- lack of oxygen
- Because they all live in a fantasy land.
- People like Obama for one of 3 reasons: 1. They're young and naive. 2. They're not "all there". 3. They're black.
- They don't really work for a living.
- Because they go with what "sounds" best first.. anything else would require research and reading.
- he's saying exactly what they want to hear and like jackasses, theyre falling for it.
- Because the younger generation are the ones who are the future of this country . We're the ones who are going to have to deal with all the stuff Bush royally screwed up. We want someone in office who can actually do something to fix the nation, and that person is Barack Obama.
- They don't know any better? They don't have a christian back ground. They think all change is good? I don't have a clue. Do you?
- Political naivete. Some people believe, wrongly, that government can be made to do all kinds of wonderful things for them, without impacting the quality of the service, or their freedoms, rights or paychecks. They don't seem to grasp that the problems we are experiencing today, economically, in health care, gas prices, home mortgage crisis, the impending Social Security and Medicare insolvencies, the weak dollar, etc, were all CAUSED by government "doing something". And every time the government has "done something", it has only resulted in increased government, higher taxes, incremental losses in right and freedoms, and has been the source of even bigger future problems.
- Because they're tired of the losers like Bush who have been running the country?
- His style speaks to the young mindset. As a rule, you will find that younger voters tend to be idealistic. They believe that this world could be a better place if we simply work together. They still believe in helping others. And that shows in their choices for leaders. Older voters are not so idealistic. They have lived life long enough for life to teach them harsh realities. Realities like how hard it is to change anything, or that change always brings new problems with it, or that if you help other people they are usually ungrateful and will throw away that help. And older individuals get tired of giving of themselves and losing out for someone who doesn't care anyway. So instead they look for leaders who are more willing to help them, and not get caught up in helping people who are ungrateful. And that also shows in their choices for candidates. Obama speaks to the younger, more idealistic crowd. His speeches are designed to play up the idea of working together, and of helping each other. Younger people still believe very much in that, as do more college educated individuals. They went to college to get knowledge so they could make a difference, and now they see a chance to make that difference in Obama. But it should be noted that these are only tendencies of the demographics as a whole. You can find support for each candidate among the young, the old, the college-educated, and the not college-educated; and any other demographic you can think of. As far as celebrities... Sometimes the younger ones feel the same way as other young people; they honestly want to help people and so have been siding with the candidate that has made that his platform. Most times celebrities just like to jump on bandwagons. Obama is popular, so they sided with him. If McCain or Clinton had gotten that popularity instead, they would have with either one of them instead of Obama.
- They like Obama for the same reason older people <and there are many> like Obama. He is the best candidate for President of the USA.
- Why do many older people, particularly early Baby Boomers, think every person, thing, or idea not of their generation is inferior? Many younger people like Obama because they identify with him.
- i have no idea. I guess they are naive and think "hey if I say I like the bl ck guy, people will think I'm nice" BTW, I don't like any of the candidates.
- because he is a good person, contrary to what the media has put out there, and he has what it takes to be a good president..
- They live in a fantasy world where mice polish their shoes and squirrels press their pants.
